John O'Hagan is a photographer and filmmaker. He was born in Dublin, Ireland and grew up in Dayton, Ohio and Washington DC. He studied photography and film at Brown University, Rhode Island School of Design, New York University, and the International Center of Photography. As a filmmaker, O’Hagan is best known for his critically-acclaimed feature documentary film, Wonderland, about the birth of suburbia and America's first mass-produced "cookie cutter" community -- Levittown, New York. O’Hagan is currently working on a large format photography project, American Citadels, about the walled desert communities of Nevada and Southern California.
